About the Study

The Full Story

The purpose of this study is to determine how well performance on a variety of cognitive assessments can predict your ability to locate pictures on a computer-like device that organizes said pictures in two different display formats. We also want to see how participants use the pictures, along with other forms of communication, to retell the story of Cinderella. Your participation will include the following:


Day 1 = 60-120 minutes of screening tasks

Day 2 = 20-30 minute navigation task and story retell with cartoon symbols

Day 3 = 20-30 minute navigation task and story retell with photographs


You, along with approximately 20 others, may become fatigued or frustrated during assessment or task completion, but breaks will be provided as needed. We will protect your data in locked offices, locked cabinets, and password protected computers. The data collected will be stored indefinitely, and de-identified data will be used for publication and presentation purposes for this study and future studies. Your confidentiality will be protected to the extent allowed by law. There is one direct benefit to you for participating: all assessment results will be provided to you at no cost. Beyond that there are no direct benefits to you.
